Acer’s revenue for the first quarter reached NT$78.378 billion, down 9.42% QoQ and up 9.53% YoY. The gross margin was 11.3%, a decrease of 0.17 percentage points QoQ and 0.32 percentage points YoY. Net income after tax reached NT$2.235 billion, a decrease of 0.25% QoQ and 18.54% YoY, with net income per share of NT$0.74.
Acer admitted that its business was affected by the war between Russia and Ukraine in the first quarter, and the pandemic also impacted supply chain operations. However, Acer has also made achievements in its new product lines. Its Vero line of Aspire Vero eco-friendly laptops has won several international awards, including 2022 iF Product Design Award and 2022 Red Dot Design Award.
In addition, Acer’s multiple business engines continue to thrive, and several of its small subsidiaries performed well in the first quarter. In March, Acer Cyber Security Inc. (6857-TW) was transferred on March 3 from Emerging Markets Strategic New Edition to Emerging Markets General Edition for trading.
