民進黨：蔡英文兩岸政策就是維持現狀

美國智庫學者葛來儀（Bonnie Glaser）一項名為「蔡英文擔任台灣的總統的兩岸關係前景」的報告中，引述「民進黨消息人士」說法表示，「準總統蔡英文正試圖向中華人民共和國保證，她不會追求台灣獨立，不只不會有相關發言，也不會有相關行動。」

內文還寫道，「例如，民進黨版的兩岸監督條例，蔡英文有意識地考慮到北京對於可能影射『國與國關係』用詞的關切，而選擇用『兩岸』這個詞而不是『中國與台灣』。」

對於這項報告，民進黨發言人阮昭雄表示，不清楚所謂「消息人士」是誰、為何會有這樣的說法，但過去以來蔡英文無論在公開或私下場合的說法，都很一致，就是維持現狀，從來沒有過類似上述的說法。
