Evergreen Marine Corp.’s (2603-TW) sixth new 24,000 TEU Class A container ship, EVER ART, arrived in Taipei on its maiden voyage on June 9.

Evergreen Marine expects four more vessels of the same type to be completed and delivered by the end of the year, adding strong momentum to its European long-haul operations in an era of high freight rates.

In line with its long-term operational plan, Evergreen Marine has ordered 13 24,000 TEU Class A container vessels, some of whom have been in operation since last year.
Four more vessels of the same type will be completed and delivered by the end of this year, while the remaining three boats will be delivered next year.

Evergreen Marine currently operates a fleet of 203 container vessels with a capacity of more than 1.536 million TEUs. Fifty-six new ships of various types will be delivered by 2026.

EVER ART, one of the world’s largest container ships, was delivered on May 19 by South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries. It has been operating on Evergreen Marine’s Far East - Europe (CEM) route since May.

The vessel called at Qingdao, Shanghai and Ningbo to load cargo and is expected to depart from Taipei on June 10. The ship will also call at Yantian, Tanjung Parapas, Malaysia, and sail through the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, Suez Canal, and the Mediterranean Sea.

It is expected to arrive in Europe in July, calling at Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Felixstowe, the United Kingdom, and Hamburg, Germany, to discharge its cargo.
