Color and specialty chemicals supplier Everlight Chemical Industrial Corp. recently unveiled its sales report, highlighting a quick rebound last year as the pandemic slowed down and positive prospects for this year’s growth.

According to the company, the annual revenue target is over NT$10 billion, with a yearly growth rate of over 8%, based on double-digit growth of photoresist and colorants shipments, as well as high single-digit growth in the specialty chemicals and toners segment.

Everlight Chemical, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year, aims to exceed NT$10 billion in revenue, with sales of its major businesses expected to grow. The volume of colorants to be shipped will reach 22,100 tons, an annual increase of 6.5%.

Specialty chemicals will increase by 8% to 5,000 tons, with toner reaching 6,220 tons, up 7.2% year on year. Shipments of photoresists will top 645 tons, up 10.4%, while shipments of other electronic chemicals may decline over time.

Sales of medical chemicals, including prostaglandin, will increase double-digit year-on-year, even though other raw material drugs may decrease in sales.

In terms of capital expenditure, Everlight Chemical pointed out that the current supply of color toner is insufficient to meet demand. This year, the company plans to invest in new color toner production lines to expand production capacity.

In addition to selling its own raw material drug products, Everlight’s medical business continues to approach new pharmaceutical companies to develop its OEM business.

Everlight Chemical has also set up a special zone to produce specialty products for medical materials. It is actively increasing its productivity to accelerate revenue growth and cut down losses.

After the impact of the 2020 pandemic, Everlight Chemical’s revenue rebounded to NT$9.2 billion last year, an 18.5% increase, and its after-tax net income increased by NT$480 million, or 135%. Everlight Chemical’s revenue was NT$4.19 billion, up 18% year-over-year among its five primary business segments.

Specialty chemicals revenue was NT$2.36 billion, up 33% year-over-year; electronic chemicals revenue was $1.23 billion, up 8% year-over-year. Toner revenue was NT$1.17 billion, up 7% year-over-year, while medical raw materials revenue was NT$241 million, up 20% year-over-year.
